Ever felt like you were being tossed on the waves? There’s a scripture that says, “a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Another way of identifying this turbulent state of mind is with the term COGNITIVE-DISSONANCE. That is the belief of two opposing things at the same time. In order for you to find balance in your mind, you must embrace one of the beliefs over the other. However, many times, we are embracing lies and the truth always rises to “make waves” and signal that you are lost … and unstable in all your ways.
YOU ARE HERE ... finally
Have you ever gone shopping in a huge mall, or gotten lost in an airport and aren’t sure where you are? The first thing to do in such a case is to look for someone to help point the way to your destination or locate a map. The next thing you do is to look for the X that marks the spot and tells you YOU ARE HERE.
Why “finally”? Because for some reason most people wander aimlessly and in pain for a long, long time before they finally get tired of the pain and repeating patterns and decide to seek answers – NO MATTER WHAT.
You aren’t the first to be HERE, you aren’t the last. Be courageous, you can do this!
What to do when you feel lost
You can’t change anything until you notice that change is needed. Here’s what to look for:
- Depression, sorrow, anger
- Patterns of self-abusive thoughts and behaviors
Noticing these negative states of Being helps you to identify the damage that has been created by others. This begins at birth and doesn’t end until we end it.
1 - Renew Your Mind
2 - Identify your Payoff
What is Your Payoff?
(When You Refuse to Renew Your Mind?)
You are comforted (sometimes in a very unhealthy way) by believing that you are RIGHT versus being wrong (and confirming everything you are already fearful of). After all, who wants to think that they are WRONG? (Even if it means never healing – at least you “got” to be RIGHT!)
3 - Only NOW Counts
The PAST is over.
The FUTURE isn’t here.
This moment NOW is where you live.
One Step at a Time - KEEP IT SIMPLE
- First NOTICE – Notice your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, reactions.
- Second ADJUST – When you hear yourself say something negative (noticing) then say out loud the opposite. (Instead of “you’re such a dummy” say something like, “let’s try that again”.)
- Third FORGIVE YOURSELF for not being perfect. You are doing the best you know how to do with what you have.
- Fourth GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION. Permission to enjoy life, to heal, to BE.

Invest Time and Effort in Finding Answers
Yes, you need to research yourself, because finding answers that set you free isn’t something others can do for you without you setting your intention in that direction. That’s what research does for you. It sets your intention.
I understand how there are times when you are lucky if you can even get out of bed because of the storms that are hitting you all at once. The key to this is realizing that you only have to deal with NOW. Just one step. Just one moment, at a time. One step in the right direction, repeated often, gets you to that destination. Do ONE STEP now.
